In today’s issue: Savage declared the “people’s court” in session to rule on the accusations surrounding Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting during the 2016 campaign with a Russian lawyer who supposedly had dirt on Hillary Clinton.
“Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye, the people’s court is now in session. Is this the blue dress with the DNA stain on it? The people’s court is now in session. We’re going to take you, the Savage jury, to this case,” Savage said.
“Well, one thing you’re going to answer today is, do you feel the Trump Jr. email chain is a major scandal? Does it prove the Dems right?”
That’s the only question that we are going to discuss today.
And, of course, the Dems are saying it’s proof of collusion. And the apologists are saying it’s proof of nothing.
And what is my position?
Well, my position is nuanced, and one thing my audience can always count on is that I will go where the truth is.
But you know what? I’d like to know where the truth is.
This whole Donald Trump Jr. controversy is a hand grenade dropped into the middle of the Trump presidency.
But where is the truth? Where is the crime?
Well, part of the truth here is that this weirdo, Rob Goldstone, is an operative who, I think, set up Trump Jr.
I don’t think you’ve heard that yet. He’s acting like he’s just a music publicist. But by what I’ve seen in that email exchange — and I’ll read it for you — it looks to me like he was set up by some big power operative in the Democrat side and laid a trap for Trump Jr., who took the bait and then had the trap snap on his neck.
Now, I don’t [think he committed a crime]. He was trying to dig up information on an opposition political figure. Is that illegal? Is that a crime? Where is the crime? Colluding with a foreign government? … What is collusion? Where was the collusion?
The music publicist from England, the weirdo, Goldstone, set up Trump Jr. by saying a high-ranking Russian government official wants to meet with him, and he puts it in writing. He doesn’t even hide it.
He was baiting Trump Jr. with an email. Trump Jr. fell for it. He never, ever should have replied to this in writing. Never. You never put anything like this in writing. That is the first rule.
So, the main takeaway is what McLuhan said years ago, the medium is the message.
Or to play on that, what I wrote is, perception as reality. Perception as reality.
It doesn’t really matter if there’s a crime or not.
The perception is that there was collusion. And in his case, the perception is the reality.
So what is going to happen now? In my opinion, you can play this right out. It’s from any opera. And it doesn’t have to be Rossini. It could be from the opera that was played in every major nation.
You know, yesterday I talked about great battles of ruling dynasties, as shown in ancient Mayan carvings.
We’re watching a battle of a ruling dynasty right now in America. And there are opposing ruling dynasties in America. There’s the Clinton dynasty. There’s the Obama dynasty. There are secret dynasties that we don’t even know.
And they all want Trump gone.
And so what they’re going to do, is they’re going to try and bring down Donald Trump by indicting Donald Trump Jr., guilty or innocent.
And then they’re going to try to make a deal with Donald Trump behind the scenes, that they’ll leave junior alone if he resigns and lets Pence take over.
Now, this is only my scenario, the one I can figure out.
And make no mistake, there will be the Republicans going along with the Democrats, as they are already.
The entire political establishment is trying to bring Trump down, using, in this case, the Trump Jr. email.
However, Trump will not resign. He’s too proud and too dominant of a personality. Secondly, he son really didn’t commit a crime.
And so this will become a battle royale. He is never going to resign; he will never throw his son to the wolves, as I never would, nor would you. He’s not that kind of man.
But they’re going to give him his option. Because they think they’ve got the son in a bear trap. They’ll negotiate their way out of this. They’ll negotiate with Trump the way that Trump negotiates hardball.
They’re going to negotiate hardball with Trump, I can tell you.
If you take away the wall.
If you let the travel ban go away.
If you raise taxes on the rich.
Whatever they want. They’ll get out of this, and he’ll get out of this. That’s what I’m afraid is going to happen.
But since we’re having an investigation about Russia, Mr. Schumer, how about an investigation of the uranium deal the Clintons pulled off?
That’s a far bigger issue, because it’s real.
