In today’s issue: Savage’s reaction to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s refusal to put a cap on the number of refugees entering Germany led to insights into the political philosophies of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and how Obama’s approach to politics, in particular, paved the way for the election of Donald Trump.
Now, many advocates of borders, language and culture are confused about Trump’s political philosophy. Is he a conservative?
Savage believes Trump should follow God’s example and produce a concise, 10-point plan that would make his agenda clear.
He began the segment declaring to his listeners that Merkel’s refusal to curb immigration is “the same mentality that Obama used.”
“It was a take-no-prisoners approach,” he said.
“He knew the country was divided. He knew he had divided it, more than it had ever been divided.”
But instead of giving us, we the people on the other side, the deplorables, even a bone — not even a chicken bone, not even a parched chicken bone — he kept hammering us, vilifying us, doing it only his way, the left-wing way, giving us nothing.
And he gave us Donald Trump. That’s why Donald Trump won.
You know, if Obama was more of a compromiser along the lines of Bill Clinton, Trump never would have come along and gotten as far as he did.
Let me repeat that. It’s an interesting observation I just made.
Clinton understood the art of the compromise, not the art of the deal.
Clinton was a great compromiser, which is why he was a fairly good president. Don’t tell me about the purple dress anymore. Everyone knows he was a fairly good president. I’m talking about Bill, not Hillary.
But Clinton understood that you had to compromise. He even tried to advise that of Obama. Obama wouldn’t listen to him.
Obama was a left-wing fanatic. Clinton was never a left-wing fanatic. Never. Clinton was a left-of-center Democrat, much different than a left-wing fanatic like Obama.
Now, Trump. Is Trump really a right-wing fanatic?
No, not at all. He’s being painted as such.
…. I was very aware of his metropolitan, liberal orientation.
So, it’s not that odd for Trump to have liberal inclinations, especially when he’s surrounded by relatives who were never elected who steer him in that direction.
So, that further alienates the deplorables. Do you think they’re happy with the orientation? They don’t know which way to turn.
One one hand, they think that he’s a conservative. On the other, they think he’s not a conservative. They don’t know what to make of him.
That is a problem for him. He needs to clearly define his policies.
I think he needs to sit down with a 10-point agenda. Make it the Ten Commandments of Trump.
Just make it simple. That’s how God did it.
God could have written a thousand commandments, and people wouldn’t remember any of them.
