MICHAEL SAVAGE NEWSLETTER: Don't throw more money at this problem

1120814moneydowndrainWelcome to The Michael Savage Newsletter, your daily report on all things “Savage.”

In today’s issue: Savage addressed the opioid epidemic, asserting throwing more money at the growing problem won’t solve it.

“When you live in a culture that promotes drugs, sex and rock and roll, what do you expect but STDs and heroin addiction?” he asked.

“Well, what do you expect is going to happen when Hollywood lives off peddling drugs and peddling rampant sexuality? You expect children to grow up sane?”

He continued:

You expect little children 4 years old, who have no idea what sex is to know what their sexual identity is?

And yet you have psychopaths saying, “Oh, we have a camp now, the rainbow day camp, for transgender children as young as 4.”

To me it’s child abuse.

But the bigger question is the opioid epidemic. How would you solve the opioid epidemic?

Should Trump declare a national emergency?

Should billions more be given for treatment?

No, no, no. Not from my point of view. Treatment’s a ploy.

Maybe it works for a little while. But, basically, it’s a vacation for junkies.

I don’t know. I don’t like watching these shows like “Intervention.”

I find drug addict, alcoholics to be the most self-indulgent people on the planet.

Always belly-aching and crying about their life and saying that’s why they use the drugs. Who cares?

So, what is the solution? That’s a problem.

Gov. Christie says we need more money for drug treatment:

“We’ve gotten really good response from the White House and, quite frankly, from the public, in terms of our recommendations. And I’m confident that the president will accept the recommendations of this commission. The fact is it is a national health emergency. According to the CDC, 142 people a day are dying in America of drug overdoses. This means that we have a 9/11 scale loss of life every three weeks. If that’s not a national health emergency, I don’t know what is. “

… All right, so they want more money. Always the answer is more money.

Well, I’m not so sure that’s the answer.

You could go to the source of the drugs, couldn’t you? Like, who’s making the fentanyl? Who’s making fentanyl into the elephant tranquilizer that’s killing people?

Do you know that cops are getting sick and almost overdosing as they arrest these drug dealers because these drugs are so powerful? I don’t know if you know what’s going on.

They’re afraid to even touch the stuff, because if it gets on their clothing, they could get sick from it.

Who’s making this stuff? Where is it coming from?

All of the societal problems you have listed above that are associated with heroin abuse are due to the fact that it is illegal, including deaths from overdose and due to heart infections and HIV that are also caused by heroin being illegal. And Ken Holewinski below is mistaken, most opioids are cheap generic medications now, the major pharmaceutical inventors do not hold patents on hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, etc. The slow-release pill mechanisms are still under patent, and slow-release pills do present special dangers for technical reasons. Ken, nobody is asking or telling you to take opioids, and you never should unless you are in great pain or have another strong medical indication. I hope you are never cursed with chronic pain that requires opioids for relief, but if you are, then you will understand both sides of the coin.

If money was the answer to our problems, we would have no problems as a nation.

The opioid epidemic creates violent crimes, household destructions, orphaned and dead children, and billions of $ lost which could have gone to those with problems they didn’t create themselves……So, rather than continue this insanity, I say give the addicts three strikes, three rehab attempts, then prison…for a long time. They’re loose canons, free radicals killing our communities and families and draining resources from the truly needy. I’m saying this as an ordained minister who’s chaplained and volunteered at rescue missions and street ministry.

Evil doesn’t need fed – it needs starved, for the sake of the individual and everyone he drags down.

First of all, I would like to thank Michael Savage, who is the voice of reason for me, a 77 year old woman. I listen to his program daily and believe everything I hear there because I believe what Michael says comes from his heart and is not just said to impress his listeners. My second point is about the opiods. There are those of us who would not be able to move without taking opiod medication. We are not addicts; we are just chronic pain patients who have found nothing better to help control our pain than the opiod medications. I will say that the pain management practice I go to here in Florida is a pill mill and it saddens me to have to go there but there is literally nothing else available in our area. This practice has taken over with many offices covering the area. When I go to the doctor, I pay $45 up front and wait to see the doctor who comes into the room with my prescription already printed out, does not even ask me how I am and just says “hi” and hands me the prescription. For this he went to medical school? It is extremely sad. However, I do not have a choice; I need the drug in order to function. I am now recovering from a back surgery which consisted of a disectomy, a laminectomy and a fusion and still my pain doctor did not ask how the surgery went. So sad and these practices, only interested in the money they get should be put out of business.

For pain control the first effort should be to avoid wheat. Not kidding. Obviously this won’t stop all pain for everyone. But it probably will help everyone at least a little, and may enable you to get by with a smaller dose of drugs. In my case it completely stopped all headaches, all pain from severe fibromyalgia, all arthritis pain, all residual pain from old back injuries. For the first time in my adult life I became pain free after 2 weeks with no wheat. Try it. Maybe it will work for you too.

I believe many of our problems in this country are, in part, the result of a nation that has turned its’ back on God. Abortion is one result of it as well as a drug epidemic, violence everywhere, etc. We are reaping what we have sown. Read the Old Testament and see that every time Israel became idolatrous and turned away from God he let them go their own way with disastrous results.

Margaret,You are absolutely right about this.Under Barrack Hussein Obama America turned away from G-d because they felt that, they deserved everything for free.
Those who stood on there faith went threw living hell, lost business because. They would not cater to the homosexual community because they stood on G-ds word. Unfortunately until America turns back to G=d there in for a hard time.
I pray for America here in Israel that G-d will open not, only there eyes.So they can see but also there ears so can can hear and, there mouths so they. Can speak and warn others.
